ACT Test Offered Free of Charge to Juniors on Tuesday, March 11th

Attention Juniors and Parents/Guardians,

Mountain Ridge High School is pleased to offer the ACT college entrance exam free of charge to junior students on Tuesday, March 11 at 7:30 am. Sophomore and senior students will not attend school and JATC will have no classes.

The ACT will be completed in school online using Jordan School District (JSD) Chromebooks. If students are currently experiencing any problems with their school issued Chromebook such as a battery not holding charge, sticky or missing keys, cracked screen or any other performance issue, they must take their Chromebook to the library to be fixed by Friday, February 28. Charges may apply.

Juniors will receive an ACT Preregistration Packet in their Language Arts classes the week of March 3. Students will preregister for the ACT and select up to four colleges to send scores to. If students miss class during this time, they will need to complete the preregistration at home by March 13.

Alphabetical rosters of junior students with testing room assignments will be posted in the hall across from the Attendance Office by March 7. Students that arrive late on test day will not be permitted to take the ACT. Students should report to their assigned testing room by 7:30 a.m.

Students are responsible for bringing:

  • FULLY CHARGED Chromebook (school issued only)
  • Current official photo ID – original, current (valid) ID by a city/state/federal government agency or your school (hard plastic card format, no photo copies)
  • Permitted calculator for use only on the math section. To know whether your calculator is permitted, see act.org/calculator-policy.html or call 800.498.6481 for a recorded message about the current ACT calculator policy.

Students are encouraged to leave cell phones, smartwatches and fitness bands at home as they are not permitted during testing time.
