On Wednesday the English Language Development classes and the Latinos in Action class attended Ballet West’s Nutcracker performance at Capitol Theatre downtown. We've got some pretty amazing students!

The Sentinel boys basketball team is off to a strong start this season currently owning a 5-2 record. The varsity team is made up of the following seniors: Jake Allen, Jackson Briggs, Bobby Day, Spencer Krainich, Cayden Stone, Wyatt Sylvester and junior Will Lindsay is also a big contributor. The team achieved a gpa of over a 3.8 first quarter so success is happening off the court as well. After a holiday tournament at Olympus HS, the Sentinels will be back at home on January 5th to play Davis.

Cheer Region Competition is January 12th at SLCC Redwood Campus
Cheer State Competition is January 25th at UVU

The National Honor Society honored 68 new members at their annual Induction Ceremony on November 28th. These students have excelled in Scholarship, Leadership, Character and Service. Each student qualified for membership by earning a minimum 3.70 GPA, serving extensively in their communities, and by receiving excellent recommendations from their teachers. Congratulations Sentinels!

Congrats to Cailey Bracken for qualifying for the Foot Locker Cross Country National Championships in San Diego this coming Saturday.

Drawing 1 classes just finished The Disaster Project, which is where they are given a variety of challenges to add to their artwork, some of which make them destroy their work in some way. Students rose to the challenge and created interesting and dynamic works of art after being challenged to do things like: add an entire song of lyrics to your work, draw 15 vertical lines, cut your paper into strips-rearrange it-and then reattach your artwork to another paper, and drip watercolor onto 40% of your paper. These disasters remind students that sometimes something might go wrong with your art, so how can you turn the mistakes into purposeful additions?
