Drawing 1 students finished their grid projects, and here are pictures of some of their work. I'm very proud of the time and effort that they collectively put into this project. It's a challenging one, especially for a beginning drawing class, but I appreciate their willingness to take chances and put in the time and energy to create something that looks really awesome when it's done.

The Cross Country Team finished the season with the girls taking 9th place and the boys taking 13th at the State Championship last week. Cailey Bracken was 7th overall in the Girls race and was awarded all-State honors.

Jaren Barnes, Lance Belcher, Grace Waite, Zarah Wiet, and Nikki Phipps were all awarded 6A Academic All-State last week as well!

Jaren Barnes was the recipient of the America First Credit Union, KJZZ, and KMYU 2023 Student Athlete Scholarship. They highlighted him during the halftime show at the Mountain Ridge vs. Lone Peak football game on Friday. He also had the opportunity to appear on TV with Adam Mikulich. He conducted an interview that aired Sunday night on “Talkin’ Sports” on KUTV. Congrats Jaren!

Every year the MRHS math department is proud to have an exceptional group of experienced calculus students serve on what we call the CALC SQUAD. These dedicated students devote their time and talents to making math awesome for those who follow. They are truly amazing!

Five of our outstanding sentinels were honored by the BYU Mathematics Department this month. They were invited to a banquet on campus where they learned about the amazing opportunities that await them. Congratulations to Mallory Burton, Alex Lords, Tyson Russel, Landon Parry, and Izzy Patterson. Way to be Sentinel Strong in your academics!
