10 of our multilingual learner seniors were recognized by the Mayor of Herriman for the City Council Future Leaders of Herriman Award. They had a special Town Hall meeting all in Spanish for the Latino community here in Herriman.

Congratulations to Makai Johnson, who was selected to represent Mountain Ridge High in the Jr Women in Business Program with the South Valley Chamber of Commerce. Way to Rep the Ridge, Makai!

We hosted a great Track and Field Region Championship meet at Mountain Ridge on Wednesday and Thursday last week. Our girl’s dominated the meet and our boys also competed well, and we came away with a Region Championship!

Congrats to the following for being individual Region Champs: Kinzlee Riddle – 100 meter, 400 meter, & 200 meter, Grace Tycksen - Javelin, Saige Pidcock - Discus, Rylee Parkinson - High Jump, Chase Higham - Shot Put, Adam Hawkes - Discus, Girl's 4x400 team (Lexi Jarvis, Nat Shober, Amaya Brouse, and Kinzlee Riddle)

The State Championships are Thursday and Saturday this week at BYU. Go Sentinels!

The Varsity Smash Bros Team from the ESports club took 2nd place out of 191 teams in the mountain region this spring and has been invited to the national championship tournament this month.

The last two weeks have been busy for our orchestra students! Last Wednesday we participated in the Region orchestra festival. All three orchestras put on great performances, and both the Concert Orchestra and Chamber Orchestras got superior ratings from all three judges! Chamber Orchestra qualified to go on to the State Orchestra Festival in May. On Thursday the orchestras and bands headed up to Seattle and Portland to participate in the WorldStrides Festival where we competed with other high school and middle school groups from around the country. Concert Orchestra earned 3rd place in their division. Chamber Orchestra took 1st place in their division and won the award for best orchestra overall! Congratulations to all the orchestra students on their hard work and success this year!

Our very own School Counselor, Mr. Blodgett, won the Jordy Award: High School Counselor of the Year! Congratulations!!
